Richmond Golf Club, a Northern Gem

9th Green at Richmond

9th Green at Richmond

Just back from a little break up in the lovely Yorkshire Dales National Park in northern England. Fantastic park of the world if you interested in fresh air and friendly people.

On a golfing note I thought that I would just mention a little gem of a course that I discovered while I was up there. I didn’t have much time to make a decision so I opted to go for the closest course available which turned out to be Richmond Golf Course (http://www.richmondyorksgolfclub.co.uk/)

Now sometimes when you don’t do your homework you can end up being overcharged and disappointed but this certainly wasn’t the case with Richmond.

It’s a short mature parkland, beautifully maintained and presented with a great variety of holes that test every aspect of your game. The greens were in great condition which made for good scoring. And one of the warmest welcomes I have enjoyed at a golf course for quite some time to boot!

So if you are in that part of the work I would highly recommend popping in for a round at £25 for weekday green fees its a bargain.

Happy Golfing,

Paul

Leaderboard Top 5 Saturday, 11th April 2009

Phew! What a fantastic weekend for Golf. Great weather and a fantastic US Masters.  I have to say personally I felt quite sorry for Kenny Perry I thought he played fantastically well and to loose it at the end was tough.

Well back to our own leaderboard we had a great turnout last week and it appears that the Golf season has well and truly started.

Top 5 Nett this week were:

Roger Bannard

Barry Robinson

David Montgomery

Harry Bond

Dal Peters

Top 5 Gross were:

Harry Bond

Barry Anderson

Barry Robinson

Colin Lee

Dal Peters

Congratulations to all.

We are making a couple of changes to the way that the leaderboards work going forward: From now on the score versus par will have a higher priority over nett and gross scores to make the relevant course scores more valid.

We are also going to be launching some exciting new features in the next week or so. Keep any eye out!

Happy Golfing,

Paul
